About BanRedCams
BanRedCams is a vehicle for Illinois citizens to gather together to ban these unsafe, unnecessary, and unwanted cameras. This is your resource to ban red light cameras. And, unlike the supposedly-grassroot groups supporting red light cameras, BanRedCams is not secretly funded by anyone. (Who would give us money, anyway … maybe companies that take down red light cameras?)
The founder of BanRedCams is Peter Breen, a community leader and a non-profit executive who lives in Lombard, Illinois. Lombard is also home to the US headquarters of RedSpeed, a major red light camera company, putting Peter in good position to fight against these “Big Brother” cameras. Peter started fighting red light cameras as part of a run for political office in 2009. He had to get out of the political race due to work and family commitments, but the need to ban red light cameras continues.
